10 Renovated student rooms in Mechelen

In this project in the center of Mechelen, an existing building will be transformed into ten modern student rooms of approximately 22 m². Each room has its own bathroom, while a shared kitchen and living space are provided in the basement. The heating is done via a central system based on heat pump technology. Instead of visible radiators or floor heating, convectors are fully integrated into SAM furniture. In this way, the wall surface remains free and each room can be arranged functionally and flexibly, without sacrificing comfort.

This allows us to apply construction techniques without affecting the existing structure, which is crucial in renovations such as this one. It shortens the lead time on site, reduces the margin of error, and makes it possible to meet a tight deadline such as September 2026.
