Jona is Innovation Manager at construction company Groep Van Roey. With 11 companies in this group, they are a specialist in total solutions for the construction sector, they develop projects from start to finish. In addition, they are also one of the oldest companies in Belgium: Groep Van Roey was founded in 1760, making them 281 years old!

The construction sector is a large, decentralized ecosystem where every stakeholder can have their say. If you want to introduce a new system or material, all those entities have an opinion. If one of all those parties doesn't like it, it just won't happen. And that is certainly one of the biggest reasons why innovation in construction is so slow.
