Lieven is CEO of Lito. He and his team succeeded in developing the 'Litobox': the Litobox combines a heat pump, solar boiler, PV system, battery storage, rainwater filtering, ventilation, electrical equipment and internet network in one unit. The construction sector has changed in Belgium: ten years ago, 75% of building permits were given to the people who actually went to live in those buildings, while 75% of building permits are now given to project developers. The construction market has therefore become much more B2B, so this is also the market where we will have to make a difference in terms of innovation.
